Can anyone help me identify this caterpillar, watched him/her crawl past my foot whilst having a cuppa at home. Quite large in size I thought, approx 2 Inches long and fairly fat.

It looks like a Drinker moth Euthrix potatoria.

At that size it may be looking fir somewhere to pupate.

It spins up in grass stalks (Large) and will then emerge in a month or so.
 
yes that looks like the one, thanks for that Paleo I can tell my boys now what it is with some confidence.
