would workers who have capped Q cells always tented a grub and fed with royal jelly OR would they build and cap for the hell of it as ive opened one to day 21 days later to find nothing in there :beatdeadhorse5::banghead:

beekeepers often find empty queen cells with the caps on. ( the bees put them back on!!)
sometimes you'll find a dead worker in there, head first, who was clearing out the royal jelly and got entombed

just shows they dont use a proper permit to work system when carrying out maintenance operations :)

And that is why you leave an open cell containing a live larvae and royal jelly;)

Avoids the disaster of waiting for a queen to emerge from a cell that turns out to be empty:eek:

How often does an empty cell truly get capped?

lots of reasons why a "sealed" single cell may be found to be empty down the line but doesn't mean it wasn't full.

IMHO leaving one unsealed cell is primarily to ensure that HM has been fed for the full quota of days.
