I would get the paraffin wax wicks with the aluminium base at the right length Faffing about with a wick for these would be a pain. Pop the wick in centrally and fill up. Allow to set a bit then put in the freezer and wait till the wax goes solid and shrinks and then tap the mould and it should release OK.

Paraffin wicks are likely to be the wrong size for a beeswax candle of the same size.
