Hi all.
My one hive still has its supers on because one was harvested then returned for cleanup and the other was never finished. I've left them both on so the bees can fill them with ivy honey shortly.
However, today I put Apiguard in the hive. I know you shouldn't use Apiguard when you are going to harvest honey in the hive, but if you're just leaving the honey for the bees, is that ok? Are they bothered about thyme-flavoured honey?
Will the supers be usable next year, or will they be irrevocably tainted, or can they be de-tainted by boiling them. Will the drawn out foundation be reusable for next year's honey or will that be tainted for good?
I don't want to waste the frames/foundation if I can help it!
Please advise.
Thanks very much.
