20 sheets? 0.5 mm? One centimetre thick in total?
You can measure it quite accurately and it is not anywhere near 0.5mm.
One could take all one's offcuts (or even make a few extras) and stack them up, clamp in a G clamp or similar, and take a measurement of the thickness to arrive at a 'more than accurate enough' result. Certainly not rocket science. I did not rely on measuring a single sheet with my micrometer.
Much nearer 0.25mm is the truth and it may be less than that..

Rocket science it certainly is not but if you are that bothered by the thickness and you have a micrometer why would you go to the trouble of using a G clamping and a stack of offcuts, surely to get a truely accurate reading you would of used the micrometer and not being from a engineering background myself I certainly would not have notice the sheets are less than 0.5mm unles you had pointed it out
I have not used any of the sheets yet and only took one out for a quick look to see what they were like the issue of the thickness did not enter my mind and as long as the product is fit for the use it was sold for it still is not a issue
