For those breeding queens or who have done in the past, have you got any good tips in terms of sticking the queen and a few workers into the cage - QUICKLY and efficiently?

Thanks
Tim

Not wanting to state the obvious, but queen in cage and cover end with thumb and just pick workers of frame and put in cage then close up, takes seconds.

I use an empty plastic 35mm camera film canister with pop-on lid, air holes drilled on the sides with a fine drill bit. Works a treat. Used it yesterday, as I wanted to exclude the queen, whilst I made a Nuc.There is room for a few workers in there too.

Poly Hive,

Catching plastic queens might be good for practising but not much help for those elusive queens, on a frame with holes in it! :D

Very true Oliver.

35mm film? who on earth uses film these days. Treasure that pot, it's a rarity!
