Just got back from the auction and purveying all my latest treasure strewn across the garden.Sadly swmbo isn't so impressed .
There were very few people at the auction, I think it was a combination of bank hol weekend and the first time they have run it.
Complete hives were going for between £7 and £20. Arguably they are not the best (white paint peeling), but a mesh floor, brood, two super, qe, crown board and roof for less than the price of a super with frames!!! I'm sure the bees will be more than happy with their new homes
 
I must say there was a marked lack of quality wooden nucs!
Maybe next year f they run it again the public could anticipate more quality lots???
