A few pictures of beehives I have seen.

The Belarus beehives were in the Lake Naroch region of western Belarus and the Indian beehives on the road from Agra to Jaipur in the Golden Triangle.

Interesting, thanks for posting them.
Looks like Belarus use "Old Yorkshire" entrances half way up the hive.

Nahhhh. :)
"Old Yorkshire" bee hives have their entrance in the middle of the hive. Mate of mine has some that are close to antiques. Not sure I can see any advantages apart from snow doesn't block the entrances.

Looking at the pictures from your blog link it looks as though they have a bottom entrance and a middle entrance. Are there any reasons for this that you know of?
I've played around with second entrances but not come to any firm conclusions.

Good day:

The second upper entrance is made to create direct way to honey block. So from the lower entrance to upper is nest, and up the upper entrance is honey block, so during the hard blooming season bees can go direct to honey block.
