If you are wanting to see inside of a hive and be around lots of bees get yourself to Alnwick for a hour or two ..next weekend is supposed to be better if you want to know what is like to be stung..just kidding..;)

As the Yorkshire Beehives site used to say on one of it's pages - you WILL get stung at some stage. :)
Once it's happened and you realise
A) you're not allergic to bee venom (if you are maybe you should rethink the whole subject)
B) it's not much worse than a nettle (those little greenhouse nettles are probably worse anyway)
C) you don't need to duck when bees approach your veil
Mostly it's coasting downhill from there

That is so true John..so true infact the first day I collected my first angry bees from Thirsk I got stung four times the stings on my back where nothing but the one in my ear hole got me running a bit quicker..I still get stung now but not very often..it is all part of the hobby and to be expected.
