While waiting my turn at an ATM this morning, idly looking around, I noticed what appeared to be honey bees entering and leaving a hole in the wall of a house opposite the bank. It was at a point where the eaves of a lower annex adjoined the two storey house.

My immediate thought was "where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise" so I did nothing but use the ATM and go.

But should I have knocked on the door and pointed them out to the householder, do you think? What would anyone else have done?

At this time of the year? Nothing!
Look for suitable bait box site for next year!

Now that's a good idea! I'll have to remember to check on them in the spring. I thought of getting out my binoculars to make sure they really were honey bees, but I'm fairly certain you can't stand in the street and appear to be staring at someone's bedroom windows through bins without getting accosted as a peeping tom.
