Resistance-conferring genes are what bees need to simply return to their independent state.
The basis of treatment-free beekeeping is helping that happen. Anything you do that sends non-resistant genes into the local population tends to defeat that.
So don't go in search of alternatives or miracle cures. To the extent that they 'work' they make things worse.
What you need is local resistant stock. Period. Get your bait hives ready, make a list of ways to locate swarms.
