Can anybody recommend me a good value decent bee suit for a novice just starting out, I got my bee's this Summer and have only used a cheap top with veil so far and I feel I should get something better so I am more confident going into the hive.

I don't want to spend absolutely loads on one at the moment as I have already spent a fair bit getting up and running with bee equipment/hive/bees etc and they might not make it through the winter - so my idea is to get a better one if I can now for around a budget of £75-£150 and maybe next year upgrade if needed and i'll have a decent spare.
I would recommend Goldbee, the suits are good quality and value for money.

Beekeeping is not a cheap hobby... no disrespect intended, but if you want to get the best experience from your new passtime buy a decent well made suit.

Sherriffs new vented suit is not cheap at just over £400... but works for me!
AND is better than the other suits I have seen recommended on this forum ..by a country mile!!

One day I will but a Sherriff suit... but this year is not that year given i can buy two Abelo 12 framers for that price ;-) I don't know if any of the rest of you do this, but my measurement of money is now based upon how many hives a certain sum buys - genuinely the currency I think in now, much to my family's amusement. I've just got an Easysee from Mac at Loch Ness honey as I'm frustrated with my ventilated Maisemore mesh - are Sherriff's honestly THAT much easier to see through? That's my only gripe with suits now tbh, the clarity or lack thereof looking out

But will they stop the bees stinging you?

Admittedly, no. But my Maisemore ventilated suit was a present from my mam and dad so I'm v fond of it and would rather customise the veil than buy an entire new suit, though I'm contemplating getting one of the cheap HumbleBee ventilated ones as I've realised one suit isn't practical with the numbers and frequency of inspections necessary and still maintaining good apiary hygiene
