On Saturday the 17th feb at 1pm it was 10C sunny and still. My bees were flying lots of them were landing on the lawn and cleaning each other in the sun shine. They were gathering in groups and cleaning each other, I went in the house came back out half hour later and they had gone back in to the hive. The last time they did this was on the 5 th of Nov 17. To think this was only a couple of weeks ago. And now we are digging the drifts of snow for the 3rd time this winter.
Thanks for reading
Mark

Mine were taking cleansing flights today before the rain arrived mid afternoon. Warmed up fast didn’t it?

Sorry for the slow reply. This time of year cabin fever is at its worst so I am not checking the forum very often.
Love the photos and love the area you are in.
As you say we are in a much more benign climate area than you even though we are only 40-50 miles away.

Can’t wait now for this season to get started.

No worry its been nice to be working in hartlebury and seeing the difference in temperatures and weather differences. how the honey bee's are foraging more so down there. In fact I'm a bit gel really ..
I watched my girls late afternoon and there was small amounts of pollen going into the hive until it started to rain I'm glad I've planted hazel in the garden :)
