Back on topic; my Bee Inspector was very nice. He has proposed me for the bee farmer association. :)

Off topic; All this talk of being caught assumes you told someone and didn't just shot and bury the burglar!

"All this talk of being caught assumes you told someone and didn't just shot and bury the burglar!"

yes but everyone has smart phones nowadays so they will get traced to your property when reported missing.

Bury them in someone else's garden then - two birds with one stone? or feed them to the pigs - happened in our area back in the fifties when one of two Polish brothers dissappeared!

"I sold his phone on E bay"

"Bury them in someone else's garden then"

Neither any good.

Think Soham murders. location where phone switched off or battery dies is easily available to police. A deeper trawl by mobile companies can track the historical movements of the phone.

I'm not sure the mobile phone tracking is quite as reliable as people often think.
I worked for a logistics firm that had a lorry hijacked in Lancaster. The driver was dumped by the side of the road near Liverpool (thankfully unharmed) and the vehicle was never recovered. We asked the police if they could track the drivers mobile phone (which was supposedly left in the vehicle), they looked into it and told us that it wasn't possible.

Quite. But if they can't be bothered to do it for a kidnapped driver, £250,000 of trainers and a brand new articulated lorry they may also not be bothered to do it for a missing theiving scrote;)

Edit: I before E except after C

Tracking phones is a bit of a myth I think: would have worked in lots of situations where it could have been essential, and would have been a very handy tool in some of the investigations I've been involved with - not even mentioned; just something you see on these CSI type filums.

Bee inspector in Hampshire visited my address at my request ( on a Sunday) and gave very helpful advice !!

Peteinwilts ask your self the question,

Would you be happy with another beekeeper down the road from you with hives that have been kept away from the bee inspector when they have arrived to inspect and possibly inspecting due to a local outbreak of say EFB?

I am not saying this is what you will do but if you ask me you only have more to gain with the visit.

Have a cup of tea on tap and a bucket of washing soda and enjoy.

Good look

I was under the impression that THIS was the reason for the inspectors vist. ERP is a notifiable disease??? And it is illegal to have hives with this disease?? At least, this is what i was told when I started 6 weeks ago.
