I have a vortex escape that I made following this plan.
http://www.dave-cushman.net/bee/vortexescape.html
It does work very well and quickly, clearing a super in a couple of hours.
It's very similar to yours Erichalfbee, with one exception (apart from being triangular/square - which doesn't affect the maze topology).
If a bee enters the vortex version at a corner, then if it makes the wrong choice at the first 'parting of the ways' and goes along the edge then it is routed back out of the next exit - a bee has to make two correct choices, either a left then a right, or a right then a left, to get to the centre.
In the square version, the escape route along the sides is blocked off, any bee entering at a corner will always get funnelled into the centre, whichever left/right choice they make.
