is that nuc occupied mate?

if so, i cant quite be 100% sure from the picture but it looks like there is an awful amount of dysentry on the hive. Coud be a case of nosema!!

have a read up on nosema and see if could apply to this hive

Isn't that the nuc being discussed in the "Bees all over the paving " thread?

Yes it is any comments

Not particularly I was just pointing Beesleybees towards the discussion taking place about the situation. Sad man that I am I noticed the soiling round the entrance was in the same pattern hence my comment.

What is the frame with comb in it?

doubt you will get a swarm in an obs hive. Bees like the dark.

Its an old observation hive I paid £28 on a site for it just thought I try it as a bait hive, you never know?

Did you ever use it? I have one I picked up recently missing a couple of panels.

Anyone know how they work? Not the frames, I see how that works, but once all closed up, as I don't know what the panel should look like at the bottom.
