Any food products including honey imported from inside or outside the EU would require documentation as to proof of origin.
Even if being used for animal feed as this could get into the human food chain.
There are very good reasons for this, not unknown for some products to be imported into an EU country that does not have the UK's strict controls, and then repackaged as of EU origin.
That is why tests are carried out... particularly on honey.. as a lot of contaminated far eastern product could end up on our supermarket shelves.
