Am away for next 10 days and inspecting hives tonight found some QCs in very early stages. In that i mean just past play cup size with grub in but not much sign of jelly.. I picked the best looking one and knocked the rest and did an AS.
My question is as i wont be back to hive fot 10 days was this the best option i had????
Or should i have done something else???

you did the right thing.
once a play cup has anything in it isn't a play cup anymore it's a queen cell.

don't forget to go back in when you return and manage the extra ones they will have built while you were away.

There is a concern that they may make QCs in th AS and the days is too long to look in. I would have done a modified snelgrove if I couldn't get in for ten days

Thanks for replies, how does a mod snelgrove work?

Options
1. Wally Shaw Snellgrove 2
2. Clip queen if doing a Pagden A/S
3. Place queen excluder under the Brood box with original queen if not clipped?
