Does anyone know of or use an artificial swarm method that leaves the queen where she is in the original box and place .
 
The question is why
The normal one leaves in the queen in a new box in the original place for a reason!

Instead of moving a heavy box full of brood aside, put a new, empty box next to the old box and, as you inspect each comb to find the queen, put the brood combs in the new box. It amounts to the same outcome.
 
I'm still dying to know why you want to do it that way!

Possibly it's a question in the BBKA module exam system?
Where it was good to see they were up to speed my omitting an important diagram from a recent module 7 exam paper....
