I put apigaurd on my 2 hives last week so I decided to check them out today .
The trays were empty on both hives so I used the second one as instructed.
When I pulled out the inspection trays from below mesh floors I was astounded there was mites everywhere too many to count at least a thousand..

So the apiguard is killing .mites. you obviously had a serious mite burden.

rather late for apiguard which is why the varroa load is so high, i expect your winter bees wil already be compromised by the varroa load

Do u mean they might not make it through winter

If I'm well organised I like to get any mite treatment over by early september so they can get a couple of rounds of mite free brood before winter.
You've done as much as you can, perhaps a mid winter oxalic acid treatment and see how they are in spring.
