After a mild winter, local fields have OSR in bloom already, the meadows are covered in dandelions, blossom trees are getting past their peak, but my colonies have not yet built to a size to get the benefit of all that forage.
What are you seeing?

Having been out on the bees hefting, dismantling the odd obvious dead out/drone layer, and setting up new apiaries I'm now sat in my deckchair enjoying the warm afternoon. Next week is forecast 7°c and snow. Still not tempted to break apart colonies and waft brood frames around.
In short, nothing strange about this spring.

a normal spring - not much different to any other.

Pretty much normal down here ... plenty of ornamental cherry in bloom and blackthorne still out ...crocus are going over now but there's other flowers about. Dandelions coming out now as well. Usual spurt of warmth mid/end March which we've come to expect but there are still some cold spells lurking in the future if most past years are anything to go by.

:iagree: - but it's difficult to know if the joy of the last few days is statistically exceptionable weather-wise or maybe it's just the novelty of warmth after weeks of dreary weather. I guess the latter - every spring the forum is furnished with similar posts.

Anyway, it's been 20C here for a couple of days with scarcely any wind so I've confirmed that all my colonies are queen-right and have replaced some store-bound frames with drawn comb. No losses.
