Since I got my bees last year everyone I encounter thinks I am some kind of bee expert. I get asked a lot of questions about bees.

Some can be very amusing, here are a few of my favorites:

"Do you shut them in and night and let them out in the morning?"

"So do you just take a few jars over to the hive each week and fill them up?"

"How do you get them to go back into the box at night?" - I've had 2 people ask this.

Please share if you have received any good ones.

Mine has to be from last year
“You will need to collect your bees!”
Me: “ok let me get suited up after I look at the outside of the hive “
Neighbour: “ They are in my bathroom”
I nipped round.
Me:” They are wasps not bees”
Neighbour “ They are definitely your bees they are yellow and black “
Me: “ Wasps are yellow and black they are not bees”
Neighbour : “They ARE bees, they are yellow and black”
Me: “ Just because I wear a green and white T- shirt in summer when it’s hot,it does not mean I’m a Celtic supporter!”
Neighbour: “ Apologies I did not mean to insult you”

You make lovely honey.
Bang bang bang.. **** it's the front door again some one has been stung..
I hope it's that bold headed friar tuck!
That drinks to much.. Like daily..
Your bees are swarming.. No my queen is going out for the afternoon to get laid.. Lucky cow!

Apologies.

Quick thinking😉

When we first had bees my neighbour asked if i had enough flowers in my garden to feed them all.

I had a person ask how the bees managed to get 'all the honey' in the hive and do they 'do this at night,' as they had never seen a bee carrying honey!

The above is an indictment of our education system!!!
The mind boggles!

it's not just the great unwashed - you've only got to look at some of the ludicrous statements that beekeepers make on here!

Was that a snowflake or an eight year old child?
The buzz word I think is ‘woke’......need to supply them all with Ovaltine.

Just reminiscing about a funny thing that happened at work when I regretfully was not really at my courteous best.
I was really busy and a colleague said that Mrs Fraser needed a word.

Mrs Fraser: “Well Mrs Speybee, can you tell me why this product made with honey is so dear?”
Me: “Mrs Fraser, I would say it’s because it’s been imported from Italy”
(In the meantime my workload was steadily increasing in my absence.)

Mrs Fraser: “Och Quine, is not something to do with the bees?
Me: “ Aye, I’d say you’re correct Mrs Fraser”

Mrs Fraser: “ It says here they are virgin bees, why would that make it the cream so dear?”
(Work steadily piling up meantime, and my patience getting a bit thin)

Me: “Mrs Fraser I don’t really know, maybe there’s a shortage of virgin bees?
Mrs Fraser: “ Aye ma Quine, you are right, we didnae have all that hanky panky they young uns, have going on, the now”

Nowt as queer as folk ( from all generations)

Had to look that up. However being "woke" means being aware… knowing what's going on.
Com’on Murox, if you aren’t woke you’re asleep then?

Some people just understand common as muck language.
Funny thing is the Queen was actually taking a maiden fliet at the time.

I did try to explain what happens,
With more common colourfully language. After he said" so there swarming then"

I've just spent 5 mins telling you that it's a queens maiden fliet. Ignorant knob :boxing_smiley:

Maybe he didn’t know about the birds and the bees?
