. I released a bought queen into a hive a few weeks ago and did an inspection today , she’s been accepted and is laying well . But there are 4 charged queen cells on the bottom of one frame and in the drone comb there are cells with numerous eggs in . All worker comb is one egg per cell . Any one got any ideas what’s going on .

New queen just learning the ropes and the bees are on edge so hedging their bets by building queen cells. One of the few times I would knock them down!

I also find some shall we say more defensive colonies are prone to try and get rid of the new girl whilst she settles in. Keep an eye though as on some occasions it can be a sign all is not well with her. Ian

Keep knocking the queen cells down until the girls give up building them.... one of the "importers" I know says he always has to do this with the queens he buys in as breeders.
