Odd though, only 2 hives are busy, the rest are staying indoors.

Pollen is a muddy light brown colour. I live near woodland so may be catkins?

There is plenty of gorse about a mile away.

I went to give my Bees an oxalic acid treatment today
expecting them to be cosy and warm inside their Hive
However they had other ideas.
They were as busy as on a spring day.

I shall try again later in the week bee-smillie

There is not likely to be that many flying and even if there is a fair number, they will get the benefit of oxalic when they return as they won't be out long. Suggest you get on with it now, especially as the weather for the next few days isn't looking cold enough to make them stay home. I treat mine twice two weeks min apart anyway. No sign yet of any adverse consequences of so doing and in fact the Varrox evaporator instuctions make it clear that two treatment are not a problem if that is the preferred method. So.......................
