was talking to my neighbour tonight and we had a bit of blether about the last 12-18months of our novicey beekeeping here in our tiny wee village..so far, between the 3 of us, we've experienced:
- a drone laying worker
- 1 nuc that just didnt make it
- this nuc/split that is a bit touch and go
- a hive that nearly swarmed itself to death (but didnt)
- a hive that was sooo slow to get going, we thought it wasn't going to!
- a swarm that happened in the first year (when we were told they didnt!) and was 'found' clinging to the underside of the hive table
- more Q cells than we knew what to do with
- a Q that got damaged when neighbour tried to cage her to mark her
talk about a steep learning curve!!!
