Good shout, last box I baught was nearly twice the price.
Thanks
I pay around £5 a box from these places, i wear them for various jobs and go through quite a few, the used knackered ones are also good for getting the fire going..

Fortunately we didn't have to/weren't allowed to do that ourselves, we had to call in the police surgeon.
In Heathrow, where it was a regular occurence they had this one doctor on call who used to charge a substantial amount per 'intimate examination' he went by the sobriquet of
"goldfinger!"
Quite a few looking to expand AMM populations, this will be my aim, I have mixed mutts mostly some of which I really like but as I started out with Fastbucks and a couple of Carnies and subsequent queens and daughters have all come out dark especially in one apiary I thought why fight it and do something positive.
I have ordered my first AMM (or near as) and will be seeking a second, plan is to raise as many daughters from the first as I can and re- queen current colonies, then raise daughters from second queen once I have lots of drones from the first in the area and see how they turn out.
I have three Apiaries within a few miles of each other so might help with the Drone Congregation areas or if what I have read is true Apiary Vicinity matings.
I'm actually quite excited about it as the breeding side of things grabs me a lot more than trying to produce Honey but if I get it right I'll end up with both anyway
My bees are around Broadheath and Martley, I'm aware of one other sizeable Apiary between two of mine at around twenty hives, mostly mongrels I think and ill tempered at that (chased and stung when in neighbouring orchard ;-)) the plan is once I've got enough Queens to encourage others to join in, it may be like pushing water up hill with a fork but I'm willing to give it a go, especially as the breeder has witnessed Apiary vicinity mating on several occasions with his bees.
