Have 2 of my 5 hives on 2 brood boxes this year. I did this because I had two prolific queens. Both are Langstroth hives. I read that if you use two brood boxes they should be swapped over to help prevent swarming every two weeks. My question is, is this correct? To date the queens have laid up the top brood boxes. There is sealed brood and empty cells in bottom boxes.
I ask this question to avoid any unnecessary lifting of brood boxes or disturbing the bees.

When day temps are about 10C, it is not right time to swap boxes. Operation will kill quite a lot brood. Let them be as they are.
When you add a third box and weathers are better, near 20C, then swap them.

When weathers are what they are now, nothing stops their swarming ideas.

I just looked UK forecasts. Just horrible. Day temps under 10C during the whole week.

We are getting 15C day temps. First willows has opened. Crocuses are in full bloom.

200 km to north east they have half metre snow there. Poor devils.
