British Black bee 14x12 nuc for sale. Chester

Yes the nuc is still for sale, as beefriendly points out I can't prove the lineage but they are very dark in colour and look different to most of the mongrels you see at other hives... They were originally a swarm I lured into a hive last year and this is a nuc I've made up from them this year...

British Black bee 14x12 nuc for sale. Chester

Hi I have one British black bee nuc for sale on 5 14x12 Hoffman frames. The nuc is a 14x12 plywood nuc purchased from C Wynne Jones for £50. The bees are very gentle and easy to handle and the queen is an unmarked 2017 open reared F1 hybrid. I would like £150 for the nuc... I've also got a...

2 X black bee Nucs wanted 14 x12 and Langstroth (ideally Thornes Dadant) - Chester, Shropshire, N Wales

Hi, just enquiring if anyone has any over wintered Nucs, I managed to lure a swarm of very gentle highly productive black bees last year and would like to set up another hive next to it also with black bees so the strain is not diluted to much. I'm also trying to get hold of some bees for a...

Queen introduction to a queenless hive with no brood

I'm currently introducing a new mated queen to one of my queenless colonies which has had a laying worker or drone laying queen inhabiting it. Today I took the brood body 100m away and shook off all the bees from the frames. I then placed most of the empty frames back in the hive, there were no...

Hive supercedure - mated queen - MAQS treatment - No brood

My oldest hive went through supercedure 3 weeks ago, the virgin queen successfully mated, judging by the bees behaviour which mirrored a virgin flight. It was also warm 20 degrees for 1 week after queen hatched. As varroa was high on this hive for this time of year even after treating with...

Green mould under roof of WBC - Advice please...

I had exactly the same issue with 2 WBC flat pack kits bought from eBay. All cedar except for the roof halves which separated into 30 sodden layers. I have recently fixed both, the beauty is, because the roof panels are so wet, the sections all come apart very easily and after cutting new...

    Apiguard treatment - 4 weeks?

Hi - I've just added another apiguard treatment to my bees after 1 week. Most of the original treatment has nearly gone but I've left it in the hives with the new treatment. Worried As I should really have left it 2 weeks before adding second dose. My quandary is should I remove the newly added...
