    after picking up a swarm and they are doing fine im on a single b/b i have my other hives on doubles your thoughts on putting a supa with foundation( 11 frames ) without a q/e knowing they are still on 50% foundation in the b/b would putting it on hinder them just a though not worthy

    picked up a swarm that had settled in some gorse and stay for a few days before i had the call put them in bb with the branch they was on anyway left four frames out to accommodate the branch should of left it out in the first place as they had started to build two combs on crown board took...

    my have V queen(hard to spot if not mated yet) i would leave alone for 7 days let them settle only way to find out :cool:

    i would but and travel screen on them so they dont over heat plus a screen on the front so air can flow i take it they are three miles plus away from your apairy after getting them their i would see how they settle before taking the next step dont forget to have the frames parallel to the car...

    Clipping the wings can delay a swarm as the queen can't fly so the swarm would hang around buying the keeper a bit of time i believe to clip her always :cool:

    would it not be a god time if as swarm was left till late evening to spray with O/A and put on a wired floor in a cool dark place so if any varroa was presant you could check the fall before they start a new colany with eggs/ brood :sifone:

    i find not looking for her is a good way to find her as you are looking on the frame as long as you see grubs /eggs im happy seeing her is a bonus if i do find her i like to cage her and keep her safe till i have been through the hive for what ever reason knowing she is safe and old hair roller...
