That's just what I'm doing this year. Last year I over-wintered on full double brood but this year I'm using two insulated dummy boards in each brood box (one at each side).

Yes that is the price sadly.
Don’t even mention the carriage costs in an Highland postcode ( not the islands) you would think we lived in Timbuktu, and at least most people of heard of that location.

Thats a great price - I used their shipping calculator it was £6.30 to my postcode - very good rate for 12.5kg

This is the reality of living in the North of Scotland, from Perth northwards.
Everyone knows where it is but no one wants to come here, to deliver ( we really are quite friendly.....honest)

If you used a polyhive (me) would you just need to divide/insulate on one side only?

I don't centralise mine, I work from hive wall to a dummy board with insulated partition frames filling the void.

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago from Thornes it was £31 for a 12.5 kg box of Ambrosia.
Had to drive down to collect it, still cheaper than the carriage costs.
We don’t have a baker in our vicinity now.
