I popped a few drones yesterday. They are still immature. No sperm or mucous.
There were lots of sealed drone cells but not many adults. In my area, they need a little longer to mature

I had a look yesterday and thought I saw some eggs.
Found a smallish queen on the next frame.

Interesting for me to see if the eggs hatch.
But I think that the Queen will need to be replaced. I think that she was a bit too early in the season.

More queen cells in another hive two days go so I dis an AS and plan to use the hive to graft some lavae from my best hive.

I will leave the queen cells until tomorrow then tear them all down and introduce my grafts.

It's going to be an experimental year for me!

Well I would like to start queen rearing but the nucs I planned to use as starter/reares are not strong enough (I will add emerging brood next week) and there are drones and have been for 2-3 weeks but not in large numbers and this week and early next is back to 12-13C at midday..

I have two hives with more than one super on - two out of 8 - and one super nearly half full... and that's it..

Patience is a virtue..God give me patience but quickly :paparazzi:
