Hi all

New to beekeeping this time last year, completely hooked!

Wondering when the sales are normally for kit, I.e. what time of year. In particular I am after a couple of poly nucs. I'm going to the tradex next weekend but wondering if it would save my pocket a few pennies by waiting... I'm in no rush really.

Cheers

plus some regional ones

Many thanks. Any recommendations with respect to the best time to buy or is it all much of a muchness?

Dec-Feb is the best for sales unless you can collect at one of the shows

Would be surprised if theres not some offering deals at tradex

Thornes and Maisies will have show offers at each of the conferences/tradex and National Honey Show,, probably the odd bargain with other traders as well.
Maisemores will probably have a one day, on site sale mid summer, then the winter for the online sales

Auctions will be along in a few weeks. I think Lincoln is likely to be the first within travelling distance. If my information is correct it's 30th March at Lincoln showground. If you're a beginner take an experienced beekeeper with you to avoid expensive mistakes:)

Phone ahead and see what they will have on offer

Thought I might revive this to see if anyone has any info on upcoming deals and offers?

I noticed Abelo have a sale on, although nothing amazing. From what I've seen so far, the better deals are for collection. Online offers don't seem to be as good.

If I find any I'll try to remember to post on here.

Bee equipment has random 'sweet deals'.

Had first quality frames for £26 for 50 which is pretty decent. Can get seconds for slightly cheaper but not much.

January tends to be the best month to buy in my opinion.

Stocked up on frames and a couple of 8" roofs. That's me sorted now until I need some foundation

Wheres the best place for foundation by the way and when to buy for value for money?

I think Kemble is the nicest but I usually get wax from Maisemore
They do 15% off £100 and 25% off £200 orders. Against my better judgement I’m doing an association order after Christmas

:iagree:
KBS foundation is a league of its own, sadly slim chance of discounts.
