i have a couple of colonies which could do with second BBs and i have recently spun wet brood boxes - i marked ones which were filled with this year's spring crop so i avaoided any left over stores from last summer

should i place above a CB with narrow gap to encourage cleaning up before placing them as 2nd BBs or can i stick them straight under wet?

if i do the latter, i presume reduce entrance....

grateful for advice!

just put them straight on - but on top rather than underneath

yes, and just I prefer to put it on top and let them move up, although if you have a strong honey arc above the brood the queen may not cross it so just leave it on top until the bees clean it, then swap the boxes around if there is no sign of the queen moving
