Hi all, what is the best weather for oxalis treatment. I thought it was best to do it when cold and bright to keep them clustered.
Tomorrow is 5 degrees and sunny by me, although a little windy. Do you think it will be ok to open them up, treat and add fondant if required?

Wherever you decide remember to work quickly and smoothly to minimise upset to the colonies within.

You are leaving it very late - should have been done and dusted by now as the intermittent mild weather surely means the queen is about to lay if she hasn't already started. get cracking for goodness sake and stick some fondant on while you are about it.

Similar post re this recently, other read on this was now is fine and any brooding this early are non viable bees as too early so no issues with killing off brood. After all it is not even mid January !

If the brood is sealed then no harm will be done with the oxalic trickle treatment, no harm will be done to the varroa mites in with the sealed brood either.
