wax and honey

I have to remove this from my frames.do I have to extract honey to make use of the wax as I'm going to dump the honey.

Just melt it down,the honey will settle out from the wax.

Why scrap the frames if you have had colonies die?

the hive does not smell right.it smells like the honey has fermented.
thought it best to get rid of it.
