I use a 1/2 gallon pump sprayer filled with 1:1 sugar syrup and Honey B Healthy. Works OK for most of the year but not so good now when there are lots of stores in the supers for them to protect. Great for collecting swarms as it stops most of the flying when you spray them.

Are we agreed that I should:

Add peppermint
Smoke the entrance, then switch to the spray?

Anything else?

Cazza

I use a sprayer with light syrup- 1/2kg per litre. Smoke entrance, then spray as I'm working to stop them flying up, with the odd puff of smoke if I won't them to go down/get out of my face. I think the point is smoking makes them fill up- if you then smoke them more when they're full, what can they do?
