I have tied a few different types, pre beekeeping to keep my apples and plums from getting destroyed and waspbane I agree are the only way forward.

They come with two lots of bait, from recollection. But after that beer and something sweet mixed in works a treat.

The cheap ones are cheap for a reason, they don't work!

My waspbane ones lasted three years, little bit of fiddling and you can empty them them and re charge following year.
