I am partway through a Wally Shaw Snelgrove 2, as per the WBKA booklet, “An Apiary Guide to Swarm Control”. The queen has been with the house bees for 9 days and is about to be moved back to the flying bees. The booklet says the flying bees will accept the queen without any problems, can anyone confirm this? I am tempted to use an introduction cage with fondant if that reduces the risk to the queen. Comments appreciated from anyone who has experience of this method.
Thanks Nick

She's OK just being popped in. Chase her into a queen marking cage and let her walk onto the top bars. Worked for me. Remember, it's not so much that she is their old queen but that she is laying. That's the important thing.
