sell by dates are irrelevant.

the only important details are those provided for the end user/comsumer ie the BB/BBE date. SBDs are simply for stock control purposes.

With the Average family disposing of £600 of food each year that is edible, not to mention all the food in the industry disposed of for it being past its best before date.

How many sensible people are there. :smilielol5:

At work i have been told by the EHO to dispose of un opened packets of pasta which were only just past the best before date. on the other hand trading standards have told me in the past that as long as you let people know when you are selling something past the best before date you can basicaly sell stuff for as long as you think it is fit to eat.

Its got nothing to do with being sensible in our house its down to cost. We cant afford to throw out perfectly edible food.
