Uniting related colonies

I split a big colony making swarm preps 11 days ago. Queen was nuc'd and I broke all the queen cells down a week later, then introduced a frame of larvae from the old queen. Today I went back in to check the queen cells they have made and plan to remove them all on Tuesday and reunite the old queen. Now do I have to do a paper unite or just put her small colony on top of the supers? Never had a colony try to swarm so late and wanted to keep them together.
Why did you introduce a second frame of larvae? Without that you would have had a longer period of being hopelessly queenless.

I’m not convinced that one round of queen cells is enough to quell the swarming urge
They were never hopelessly queenless at any time
