We've seen fledgeling long tails in the trees at the apiary. You can here them coming before you see them
We have Tawnies in the box in the garden. Both parents now spend the day in the beech at the back of the house. I guess there's no room for mum inside anymore.

They are so inoffensive compared to the good old house sparrow, which is also up there among my favourites

Sheltering under a plant tray, propped on one side (on a slope) which serves as a bird bath.
A good sized slow worm.
