So much for them being sent put in time order mine was done midday on the third and still pending. Wonder why yours has been sent before orders placed earlier?

understand that if you ordered 14x12 or commercial broods they will be delayed until the end of month

Only ordered National stuff, couple of floors, a roof, brood and super boxes, some frames and few other bits. and just realised it was actually 10:00 on the 3rd when I placed my order not lunchtime as I thought.

well a friend ordered commercials at 5 am, still not arrive, but hey, we cant put bees in them this time of year so as long as they arrive by april, who cares, anyway i have the kitchen to paint and if the pallet arrives after i have finished the painting i have no need to hide it (well some of it)

Interesting reply. Indicates, to me, that certain parts are being manufactured as 'seconds'. Makes me wonder why some National items became unavailable if they are actually manufacturing seconds to satisfy demand.

Or am I wrong in my thinking? Probably not.

I stopped buying 2nds after my very first sales experience. Given how long the stuff lasts I'd rather pay extra for faultless kit than have to deal with cracks, holes and splits.

I think that is the problem Rebecca, some on this forum think the "seconds" are just that namely hive parts from the Western red cedar run that do not make the grade and were rejected, when in fact they are English cedar and are made only for that purpose, lets face it you would have to be pretty poor manufactures if you could service all your sales and conferences etc with rejects from your normal production run, maybe they should just be called "English cedar hive parts" and not "seconds" to save any confusion, just a thought.

ps mine came last week.

I think 'second quality' conveys the message sufficiently, but yes, to avoid naiivety, maybe calling them British cedar would be better (I know a lot is grown in Wales) and drum it into people that it's not neccessarily poorer quality just because it's home grown and not imported.
I must say I was very taken by the lovely graining in my brood boxes this year.

True, but on top of a full time job, I have a sixty five acre farm and a plant collection of several thousand that will need more of my time as the days get longer, so "indoor" work needs doing sooner rather than later.

To give "they who shall not be named" their due, I had a message from my daughter to say they did try to ring this morning.

I have to say I think it's a bit rude of the forum admins to delete my post without explanation, they probably had a good reason, I run a forum for national plant charity and unless its blatant spam, porn or illegal we never delete posts with explaining why, it stops the poster making the same mistake and in the case of newbies is less likely to put them of posting again.

Because the forum is commercial free, and maybe it is better than locking or deleting the thread.

These people have no interest in this forum other than for commercial reasons... no posts in any other threads unless it is of direct interest to their business.

I ordered on the 3rd and my order arrived during the week. Couldn't hide the parcels from the OH as I'm rubbish at woodwork so he has to build all my bee keeping stuff..........he's busy hammering away at assorted hive parts as I type this. I have bribed him with a bottle of wine and hidden the invoice!

Mine arrived on Thursday - ordered around mid afternoon on the first day of sale. Mainly frames and a few sales bargains. Great delivery ... left in porch as requested and a text message to say it had arrived. Can't ask for more - particularly as OH was at work when it arrived !! Now safely hidden away ... she'll never know !
