Just seen this on the web, and thought it looked quite good as a concise reference. Does anyone know it, and how do you rate it?

I've seen a couple of Cramp's other books. There was some 'overlap'.

He has a very 'international' perspective with experience in NZ, Spain and the US as well as the UK.
Hence he loves Langstroths, and warns about the risk of Bears and Bee Eaters, etc.
Worth a library loan for a look through. But no, I wasn't moved to buy my own copy.

Have browsed it, not sure there's a gap it fits in. His "A Practical Manual of Beekeeping" is good and I find the bullet point layout much easier to reference than the older dense text approaches (Hooper for instance).

When would you use a condensed version at much the same level? The suggestion is that it could be a reference carried in the field but it's not so light and durable that you carry it everywhere. Find a book you like and once you know the layout it's the one you return to. Quicker referencing more than makes up for a little extra weight.
