How much bramble nectar is washed out by rain, I wonder
On last year's experience I got very little if any bramble honey. It was wet but the temperature was OK and I felt that the bees stayed indoors during the rain. The blackberry crop was huge and my observation was that other insects were responsible for the pollenation required for such a glut - with minimal contribution by honey bees. I reckon clover loses nectar to rain as well. To answer the question I feel there is a nectar loss and rain-deterrent factors in play. How much bramble nectar is washed out by rain, I wonder
My thoughts too.I feel there is a nectar loss and rain-deterrent factors in play.
And mine I’m sure though that certain flowers aldepending on shape and how they hang from the plant hold on to there nectar, so this isn’t conclusive with all flowers. My thoughts too.
