Tangential extractor?

So why do some photos show top bars at oposite ends of the basket? Can the frames be put into the basket top bar to bottom bar? The reason I'm asking is I'm looking to upgrade and want to make sure I get my money's worth as they're not cheap.

In that case and with six hives why not go radial? Much quicker and less fiddly.

It makes no odds either way is fine.

Perhaps if you were to get all the tools out of the cupboard and the big equation on the blackboard it will prove one way is better over the other but in practice its hard to see any advantage.

give the frames a light spin then turn around or the weight of the honey at the back can be forced to the front, collapsing the frame.

I recently bought a small, 2 - frame tangential extractor, the instructions said top bar leading, spin gently then turn over but still top bar leading

Just to add the fourth opinion then...

I put my top bars back to back to aid turning. The centrifugal force out, will easily overcome any slope resistance.

I'm sure when I bought my first tangential that I would have been told the correct way (which I then promptly forgot). Of course it's easy to reverse the turn, but whatever, there is no honey left in my frames when I've finished (apart form crystallised)
