Swarm

Picked up a small swarm (cast) last night, gave it away to someone who is starting bee keeping, he has been watch me and my brother for the past few weeks. Covered about two BS National frames, looked like a virgin queen. I transferred it into his on Langstroth Hive and told him to give them a food feed over the next few weeks. He was hoping to pick up his own swarm but this has not happened yet, hopefully we can help him out with a bigger swarm to unite.

Sounds a bit big for such a small swarm!!
Hope you dummied it down heavily.
I always collect them in PolyNucs where they stay until big enough for a full size hive.

No other option it was the only hive he had! Dummy board fitted mind, with a reduced entrance.
