I have just collected a swarm from a neighbour. It was very conveniently on a stone wall, about 12 inches off the ground. The bees are now in my skep (a laundry basket) with a bedsheet tied around it. Last year I was able to tip both the swarms I collected into a brood box or poly nuc on the same day but I can't deal with these until tomorrow.
So, will they be OK outside, in the basket overnight ?
I can't think why they shouldn't be, but I'm just worried there might be something I'm missing.

They should be ok..
I collect swarms using a 14x12 nuc box with a ventilated lid .. they survive perfectly happily over night with out a roof on .. provided it doesn't rain..
If it's likely to be cold under 10c then they put in the greenhouse.

They will be fine, I have kept swarms I collected in the garage which is cool and dry overnight. Then dealt with them in the afternoon of the following day. After they go in the garage I spray them with water and leave a wet sponge on the travel mesh.

They should be fine. If anything, the longer they stay, the more likely they are to start building comb and sending out invitations to the house warming party.
Enjoy your bees.
