Swarm info

Hi all
Managed to put my first swarm in a nuc box last night and learnt from the experience never to use a nuc box with an OMF as all the bees that you don't get in the box gather on it.
The question I want to ask is if the nuc box isn't 3 miles from the original site of the swarm are the bees likely to go back to the swarm site when they fly this morning. Just had a phone call to tell me that there are still a small number of bees at the original site.

You didn't leave the boxed swarm long enough for all the bees to gather together. Too late now unless the queen wasn't collected first time round.

What time did you take them away? You'd be surprised how late some return. No need to worry about 3 miles though.
