I am wondering if there is a greater chance of a colony accepting a new queen if she is introduced after a shook swarm. For example you could remove the old queen from a hive, wait a day or two and then perform a shook swarm into a fresh hive containing the new queen in a cage.

The reason I am wondering is because since the shook swarm removes all the brood cells the colony has no way to rear a new queen. Because they have been without a queen for a while they really want a new one and so they will be more conducive to accepting the queen you give them.

Yes, but I would wait 24hrs after shook swarm (giving them 1:1 feed to keep them happy) then introduce a new queen in a queen cage. After 2 days check she has been released. Should be fine.
