Was extracting 4 supers today and came across really sticky honey, difficult to extract. What could the bees have been working on, I am 30 miles from heather

where is heather?

a bit more definition to your location might help with answers!

Would it be oilseed rape that got in earlier in the year

TonyB - His forum name gives all the information you need about where he is - but then I'm local and know that "Craigavon" covers the towns of Portadown and Lurgan in County Armagh!

CraigavonB - you are a bit closer to heather than 30 miles - there is a fair swathe of it out at the Birches. Its possible that your bees have been foraging on OilSeedRape or other brassicas. Are you anywhere near where the Richardsons grow their veg?
